Ha! Some of the zealots surely are nuts! I recently commented on Kurt Harris's lovefest with fellow Dr. Mcguff and his 'Body By Science' fitness tome. I offered a polite, if zesty, criticism:

"Regarding BBS, with all due respect to the good doctors, I can't think of ONE professional NBA, NFL, or major league baseball team that utlizes these protocols. I understand it 'reads' well with plenty of scientific footnotes. But really, if this was the ultimate, would not big money operations with strong vested financial interests JUMP at the opportunity to utilize such advanced, winning fitness methods? NOBODY in the sports industry does one set to failure every 5-10 days, give or take. The only people promoting this are tony fitness spas in Conneticut and Highland Park, Il who cater to well-heeled bored housewives and well over prime mid-managment types looking for a panacea. Sorry if this comes across as too caustic, but if the same people did 3-5 sets of Goblet Squats with a lowly dumbbell, a few sets of pullups and some wind sprints, they'd be in better shape, stamina and strength-wise, then 90% of the gym rats out there, BBS and Super Slow included. Just my opinion."

The good doctor, in typical arrogant fashion, addressed none of my points, however, he did reply in a disrespectful and unprofessional manner...

"KGH:

Not too caustic, but maybe just dumb enough to be allowed through as entertainment.

Michael Phelps eats shit like giant stacks of pancakes and pizza. I guess I better scrap the whole 12 steps now!

It totally amazes me how there seem to be multiple versions of the same book available.

Doug claims this is the ultimate program for pro ball players?

I missed that part just like I missed that GCBC is just 500 pages of lies about insulin and the metabolic advantage.

And you think emulating pro athletes is the way to practical and functional health? "

I had mentioned nothing about his 'Paleo 12-step program' and posted a reply that I thought his Truth could stand up to a contrary opinion a little better than that. I was wrong.

He deleted the whole post. I guess the Paelo Party only allows groupthink. What a shame.
